Hiphop asked:

Besides the actual physical moving of furniture, who do I need to contact to let them know of my move? I live in Los Angeles if that matters.

For example, do I have to contact the LADWP and let them know that I’m not living at my current apt anymore? Also, I’m assuming I have to let them know of my new address?

Who else do I need to contact? Credit card companies, etc. I just don’t want my mail being delivered to my old address.

I’m moving in one month and have some pieces of furniture to sell. I need some suggestions on how and where to sell them.

I need to sell two 6-ft-long drawers and two 9-ft-long desks. All pieces are almost brand new made of high-quality wood and so they’re heavy. I can’t sell them in a moving/garage sell because I’d need professional help getting them out of the house. My mom said she recalled seeing an ad about a company that comes to your house to buy your furniture. Is such a company exist? I don’t have a clue on how I can sell these furniture pieces. I don’t care if I don’t get a lot for them, as long as I do get some money back.

Any suggestions on how to sell them? All suggestions or recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I got 2 of these emails. Only difference was the mother died and not the father.

This email comes from Craigslist. They say they are living in Europe running the family business (Furniture Company). They need someone from the U.S. because their “clients” are in the US.

They want you to live in their house for free and take care of their business while they are overseas. They will send you a check and you have to wire it to a bank account or by western union.

You keep %10 of the earnings and stay in their U.S. house for free. At first I did believe this. Then it got fishy. Especially when another person with the same story but alternated.

They will say they will send you the keys to their home. Then all of a sudden, they don’t trust you enough. Someone broke into the house the last time, so they didn’t send the keys.

You have to do a “test” before you get to live in their house for free. If you complete the test, you get the keys to the house.

This is a very elaborate story, best scam I have ever read online. They also use a yahoo email account.
