My neighbors have cats which enjoy sleeping on the couch I keep on my veranda. I have spoken to the neighbors, who don’t care that I am allergic, and cannot sit on my own couch, so I am forced to look to other measures of control.

Has anyone ever used the pet deterrent spray with any success? I am afraid of it leaving a residue on the upholstery, making the couch un-usable for other reasons. And then there is how to clean the fabric.. If anyone has any ideas which may help, please reply. Thanks.

1. http://www.therefinedfeline.com/ I like this furniture because of it’s modern style to it. Likewise, one of the cat furniture won Editor’s Choice Award, so I thought it was a great product.

2. My second choice is those regular, classic cat trees that everyone has. I know these cat trees are covered with carpet, and not just wood. I never saw any classic cat tree ever got an award. Please Help me decide! Cons and Pros about each item would really help! Don’t say it’s good because it would go with my home decor or something, it’s about what’s best for my japanese bobtails. I don’t really care about the pricing.

Megan asked:

Well we just moved about 6 months ago and my cat Hurriciane never used to scratch on the couch, but in this new house I can’t get him to stop! He’s 2 1/2 and neutered(I don’t know if that would have anything to do with it or not)
So my question is how can I teach him to use his scratching post instead of the couch? Or even just to stop scratching the furniture! I don’t really care if he uses the scratching post!

So what can I do?
I don’t want to get him declawed if I don’t absolutely have to!
Thanks!
We have a scratching post! I wouldn’t be asking how to teach him to use it if I didn’t already have one!
